Alliance City Traps
Alliance City Traps are the first true sign of Alliance City combat. We all knew Alliance City combat wasn’t going to be far away after Game of War added another feature to the Alliance City after close to sixth months of no additions. The Bazaar was launched into the live game 2 months ago and it allows you to exchange gear for coppers, and with those coppers you can buy expensive items and gems you can’t find anywhere else in the game. Considering traps are all the rage these days, I think it’s kind of ironic that Game of War released wall traps as the first war feature to the Alliance City.
Additionally, it’s been probably a year or more since wall traps have really been any bit effective at all for Strongholds, so it’s surprising to me that they are the first war feature for the Alliance City. However, the building upgrades to level 25 do show reveal that Game of War is going to make traps effective again as you climb above a level 21 wall.
Finally, I would be wary not to go too crazy with how many traps you build right now because I’m anticipating Gear and Research to be the real combat differentiators for your Alliance City.
Alliance City Wall Traps
Starting today you can upgrade your Alliance City Fortress Walls to Level 5. The first upgrade will cost you:
To build the traps however, you first have to research them. To complete the research you will need Trapmaster Tomes from special sales.
I took some screenshots of the requirements for researching each trap type. Keep in mind that these are basically T1 traps for the alliance city.
After researching Spike Walls you will have to complete other basic attack, defense, and health research before you get to the final three trap types.
To understand the traps a little better you can think of the Spike Traps as bricks, and the rest that defend against specific troop types. You can see this from the Stats of Spike Walls below.
Lastly, here’s the maximum quantity of traps you can build at each level of your wall.

Good to see all the positive feedback for MZ and GOW, lol.
What happened to regular research without any bullshit addons, like, did MZ really need to come up with freaking Tomes just to be able to research? Come on, man!
they’re smoking the good shit cause they be crazy if they expect us to spend upwards of $2,000 just for the tomes alone then they want us to speed over 717+ days to get them they on that good crack seriously!
This game is free, you just need pockets so deep if you fall in you’ll never reach bottom… lol anyone?
For me this is a step too far. Only alliances packed with big spenders will ever achieve this level of research and build. Trying to balance the spend between your SH and city is too hard. MZ seem on satisfyingly the small minority of big spenders…and this continued drive will push players away from the game.

MZ is getting so greedy it’s a joke. They have made it to the point if you don’t buy a pack you can’t play. It’s bs if you ask me
