A new feature called Alliance Combat Research has been released on the Demigod side this week. Just the name alone is making players apprehensive, as we all immediately connect the name with the old Alliance City which was pre demi. So, while it’s still early, we are going to take a look at some pros and cons and deconstruct the research and get a better understanding.
Pros and Cons
So, the very first thing that happens is we get a bad feeling because we remember all the money we put into alliance cities only to have nothing to show for it. However, this is a bit different. As the alliance finishes the Alliance Combat Research, the stats apply to all players right away. This is already a step up, as the old AC research only pertained to the building of traps.
Another thing that pops out right away is that the amount of times you can donate is 10 times a day at a rate of 10% of the cost. This is good and bad. On one side, it forces everyone to do as much as they can to help the research along. But, on the other side, even with thirty or more players that can actively spend and contribute it looks as if it may be a long time to finish.
By the time it’s finished, will the stats still be relevant? The last issue is that currently, it is only available to spenders. Will this force smaller alliances to merge with each other? What about alliances that are full of actives, just not big spenders? How will they fare? Let’s hope that in the near future there are events that allow players to earn mats to donate.
How Does Alliance Combat Research Work?
At first glance, it looks simple, but we can go through step by step with you to show you.
Click the alliance icon at the bottom and make sure you are on the alliance tab.
Click on the Alliance Research
Choose Demigod Alliance Combat. This page leads us to believe that other alliance research will be released as well.
The Alliance Combat Tree will pop up and you choose the research that your alliance is currently working on.
Donate either resources or power. Looking at the donation screen will show you how many donations you have made for the day, what your max donation limit is, and how many power or resource you own
Keep in Mind
You can only work on one research at a time. This is different from the old Alliance City. Previously we could send as many materials as we wanted to the AC and it would be stored. This is no longer true. Once the resource amount is met, no more resources can be donated until the next research has begun. The same goes for power too.
Finally, when all requirements are met, an R4 or R5 can start the research. After that, you will need Alliance City Research speeds to speed the research. Whoever has those speeds will need to click the research bar. At the current time, we do not know if there will be opportunities to have more than one research running, or if it will even be an option.
Some Tips to Know
- Every member can donate ten times a day
- Donations can only be a max of 10% of the cost
- You can donate either resources or power.
- Once completed, the stats apply to all members
- If you leave the alliance you do not retain the Alliance CIty Combat stats. When you join another alliance, you will then receive their AC Combat Research stats.
Consequently, as we start to get further into the research, I will update the article with any additional relevant information.
