Monster Skills for Mythic Monsters and World Bosses
Monster Skill Points
Question: “How should I allocate my monster skill points?”
Answer: “The way in which you can do the most damage to the monster, the most often.”
This was good advice for a long time. However, now in Game of War hitting monsters provides very little return. Monster hitting is now about Mythic Monsters and World Bosses. Its important to setup hero to maximize your hits on these tough monsters.
This article was updated 11/15/2016 for relevancy. I’ve retained the original monster hitting strategy for classic monsters. However, current monster hitting strategy is focused around Mythic Monsters and World Bosses which have a slightly different focus.
Mythic and World Boss Strategy
First, to hit World Boss’s you must first unlock it in the Hero Research Tree. In your Monster Skill tree an Unlock Mythic Monster skill is available at Hero Level 61. The priority for hitting Mythic and World Bosses is the following:
- Monster Defense Debuff 10/10
- Energy Cost Reduction 10/15
- Energy Recover 10/15
- Hero Attack 15/15
- Hero Attack Streak 15/15
- Maximum Energy Limit 30/30
- Unlock Mythic Monster
- Mythic Troop Load 10/30
- Mythic Gather Speed 30/30
- Alliance Helps on Mythic Monster Kill 25/25
- Bonus Alliance Streak 10/10
- Mythic Gather Speed II 50/50
The reasoning behind the this setup is you will hit Mythic and World Bosses many times in a row. You have no use for energy recovery because you will be using energy packs to replenish quickly. Second, you need a very high streak. When fighting Mythic and World’s you will first build up your streak before max hitting. The higher you can get your streak the bigger your hits will be. So, prioritize Alliance Helps and Bonus Alliance Streak.
Once the monster is dead you need to clear the tile as fast a possible. This is where the Mythic Gather Speed I and II come into play. I chose these over Mythic Troop Load because you can always head back to the tile once your troop load is full.
The remainder of this article is for hitting classic monsters.
At the very end is a video I did a couple years ago. Enjoy!
- Damage – To kill the monster as fast as possible
- Amount of hits – The more hits I do on the monster, the more materials I receive, and more damage I do
- Energy recovery time – The faster I recovery energy the more hits I can do
- Max energy – The more energy the more hits
- Attack streak – The attack streak bonus becomes very useful when you can hit the monster a lot of times.
Therefore, I allocate my points in this order: Monster Defense Debuff > Energy Cost Reduction > Hero Attack > Energy Recovery > Maximum Energy Limit > Hero Attack Streak
More Valuable Tips
Tip 1: Try to send your hero to attack a monster every time you login. In the long run, all the items you acquire will add up and be very helpful 🙂
Tip 3: You can attack a monster even if you are shielded.
Tip 4: Research the items that are most important according to my priorities above, or your priorities that you chose. For example, March Speed really isn’t THAT useful, especially if you are doing hero research to kill monsters faster. Don’t waste your rss and gold on insignificant research items.
The Bigger The Hit, The Better The Drop by Anthony
“Okay I’ve been doing a lot of testing on this monster subject and I’m still trying to find the best setup. According to posts above they would small attack and continue to small attack for more items from monsters. With my hero I had 54,000 energy and I tested whats better, if you’re going down the skill tree I did 5 points then next 2 put 10 points in each, then maxed attack streak put rest in energy. Then killed monster with all small attack ended up with okay items, then with max attack usually killed it in 2 hits and found the items i got from max attack were a lot better and more than going other route.
All monsters were level 5 because its hard to find a level 6 people leave alone. Every test i tried and did all kinds of skill points above was the quickest kill and seemed like the harder i hit the monsters the more items I got but also better items than with small attack. Has anyone else noticed this?”
