      Treasure Maps Explained

Treasure Maps are another element of chance that you can use to find extra Gear, Cores, Pieces, Gold, Materials, and Gems.

Simple steps to using the Treasure Maps

      1. Attack Monsters
      2. Get 4 Map Pieces of the same level
      3. Assemble a Map
      4. Check Your Journal for Coordinates and enemies with same Coords
      5. Port to Dig
      6. Speed Up Your Dig
      7. Repeat

3 Ways to Get a Map

      Find Maps by

      1. Attacking Monsters
      2. Completing Special Events
      3. Chests in Gold Packs

Those are the only 3 ways to get maps.

      Map Assembly

To put one together, you must first collect its pieces. You can currently find or create six Maps:

Just like materials, you need to combine four map pieces of the same level to create the next level of a complete map.

The steps to assembling a map are below:

      Treasure Maps assembly

      Treasure Maps process

      Using a Map

Go to your Map Inventory > tap the Map > click Use.

This will establish a Dig Site over the hidden Treasure. It will also create a Journal Entry.

A dig site has all the same qualities as a resource tile. You have to march to it, and you are vulnerable to attack. Although, there is one major difference, you can speed up your gather time with speed up boosts.

      Journal

The Journal enables you to track the status of your Dig Site. It will inform you if an ally or opponent is currently excavating on your Site (and how many) and provide the exact completion time.

Dig sites can be anywhere throughout your entire Kingdom, so you often have to port to them. Also, multiple people are given the same coords at times. Therefore, this a fantastic chance to either tile hit the enemy, or hit their Stronghold nearby. The other player will probably have their hero on the tile in order to gather faster, which will leave him/her vulnerable to a SH attack.

      Dig Site

Send more Troops of higher tier to increase the efficiency of the dig. Dig time is determined by the amount of troops you send.

      Two Rules:

      1. To increase dig speed > send high tier troops.
      2. To decrease dig time > send more troops.

Dig sites are slightly less risky than farming resource tiles, but don’t let your guard down. All it takes is one attack for you to lose tons of troops.

      Unearthing Treasure

Once your Dig is complete, your Troops will return with Treasure, and a Dig Report will be issued. The loot will be automatically placed in your inventory.

      Treasure Maps

      Dig Site Expiration

If a Dig Site is left inactive for 5 hours, it will vanish from the World Map! Dig Site expiration resets with each successful occupation.

      Useful General Information

      1. Only one set of coords per map
      2. Loot quality is strictly correlated to the level of map you assemble
      3. One guy in my alliance (Dark Bandit) had to kill 10 lvl 3 turkeys to get enough map pieces for a lvl 3 map.
      4. Killing blows have the highest chance of giving map pieces
      5. One guy in my alliance (Gunwich) did get, “a legendary chest, a haunted gauntlet, and a lvl 5 parchment” from a basic dig. So that’s pretty crazy, yet extremely rare.
      6. Use T1’s to excavate if u don’t have the speedups – “Leo Cordova”

      Enjoy!

What to do with excess low level map pieces in my inventory that cannot be combined to higher levels? Discard them? Or ignore them?

Has anyone else noticed a scarcity of materials when rss tiles are emptied or is it just my bad luck? I haven’t had a mat drop from the last 30 or more tiles that I have cleared. If it’s not just me, wondering if it might be a subtle “encouragement” from you know who to get us to use more treasure maps?

It should be noted that a level 6 map requires 4x as many pieces than materials/cores/pieces require for level 6. The frequency that MZ changes monsters makes it near impossible to buildup to a level 6 map. Thus we have a huuuuge inventory of level 1-5 map pieces. I have found good, worthwhile loot in maps though. Happy hunting!

No but if youve been digging longer than 5hrs it will expire fast, so port close and get back in the digsite as quickly as possible

Does the type of troop(regular or strategic) or type of unit (siege/infantry/ranged/cavalry) have any effect on this?
What is the effect of number of troop(s)?
What is the effect of troop tier?(i.e., in normal gathering t1’s are fastest but this is described as opposite where t4’s should be fastest, but how much difference exists?)
Also, in normal gathering higher tiles(6) should yield better materials and process quicker but again this is described the opppsite. How much difference is there between the levels?
What of combining troop types, units, and tiers?
Lastly, someone posted that bringing the leader made no difference. What research affects treasure maps and how?

So, I opened a map ported next to it, sent everything I had to dig and it was going to take 780d 2h 3m

Yep, over 2 years. So I left. But now someone else is digging there and the 5 hour thing won’t time out and I can’t get another map

Treasure maps seemed the only interesting part of the game and now I’m locked out for a couple of years

I really enjoy doing levels 1 and 2 treasure maps. I put 100k t3 on them and the dig times are 5 or 10 minutes. The marches can be long, but I find it a more effective (and fun) way to get materials than gathering.

I just sent 3000+ troops and my hero to a digsite and my dig time is 51 days. What am I doing wrong here? It was an uncommon map. This can’t be right.

Dug up 2 Legendary (Orange) maps today.

For the first one I put 375k T4 on it and the dig time was still a little over 7 days. As I’m not leaving billions of RSS worth of troops on a tile for 7 days I used speedups to finish the dig.

Cost: 500 gold for the random port to get in march range and 1500 gold for the port back home plus the 10000 gold for the speedup.

Reward: lvl 4 marble and 100k chips

Tried a second map because I’m evidently a gluten for punishment.

Cost: I was in range this time so just the 10000 gold for a speed up.

Reward: 4 lvl 3 feathers and a lvl 2 ranged gem plus 100k chips

Risk vs reward is simply not here to warrent doing the maps. Pieces and maps are basically just chest fodder at this point.

Why not farm with T1 and let them sit there? 50k-100k t1 would cost less than everything by far. But I agree the treasure maps are bullshit

The length of the map tile is dependent on the quality, troop type and troop load. Thus the timer for a lvl 6 legendary map with 375k T4 was still over 7 days. 50k-100k T1 would need more like 46 days to harvest a legendary map tile. Leaving troops on a tile for 46 days is not a viable option. In fact in my kingdom (Halo) any and all troops on tiles have a life expectancy of about ten minutes before one of us big guys ports in and kills them for kill points.

How can I get rid of an active one in my journal to start a dig? I tried the active coordinates and nothing there – my troops basically got to go camping. Now I can’t try another one since it is showing as active – not worth the time, frustration and lack of any “reward”

I have had a lot of luck with maps, and have gotten some several LVL 4 materials. I do not waste teleports. If it is too far, i do not bother. If it is within 1 hour of distance, i will dig them. Also, I have found as much success with LVL 2 as with LVL 4 maps, so i combine them to LVL 2 and then use them.

The BEST thing is raiding dig sites. I routinely troll the area around me, searching for these guys. When i find one, i research the Profile. If the digger has a lengthy dig time, that is a pretty good indication that the force is weak. I send 50K T2 troops and crush it. Often, i win gems for the win!! The digger is usually too far away to give a damn. I was retaliated only once, and he recalled the attack after a period of time (probably after he saw how tough i was, in proportion to him).

So if you are not going to be a digger, be a raider!!

        indeed. agree with paxx.
I just did for yellow map digging, with 250k t4 for 8 days and 19 hours. what did i get? lv 5 one-arm armor core, 100k chip. I used speed ups on it, wont risk my troops at all since anytime someone can attack. but still i dont think it’s worth the risk.
Also, for blue map, i dig for 1 day 23 hours with 250k t4. I got 1 uncommon map piece, 100k chips and lv 3 pareo core.
Tips from me. If you wanna dig for high level map, using high level tier troops you better use speed ups. because loosing in huge amunt of troops to dig in a single attack from another player, not worth the time to train it. compared to speed ups you use for digging.

Definetely not worth porting, even in case of an epic map. All i got was 100k casino chips, a l4 war drum and some low level gems.

I agree, although some people have gotten really good stuff from low level maps. Hard to say if its worth porting.

When is MZ going to come out with value-added or more war/fighting features like hero vs hero battles and have them duke it out and let the best decked out hero win or add hero profiles so we can setup different attack/defense profiles and be able to switch all the gears and tree by selecting the profile rather then this hideous treasure map that all it does is give out crappy mats. In a nutshell, treasure map is a bust! C’mon man ask your user base what they want and not your marketing team.

Uncommon map gave me a level 2 core and basic rss chest. Rare map was horrible. Took 1 day 16 hours with 250k t3 on it, which I sped up, and I got 910 gold, 1 level 1 gem, and I think 4x level 1 material. Huge waste.

I had a level 2 map, it was 45 minutes away, used two 75% march speed ups, then an 8 hour speed up. Got a rare Hydra Fang Axe. But since then I’ve killed about 10 level 1-3 monsters and hit level 5 monster a bunch of time and haven’t got anymore map pieces.

They pretty much are worthless, The risk is just too high to leave troops there digging so you have to burn speed ups, and probably teleports, so you’re talking a couple thousand gold to get marginal to bad rewards. Maybe the epic/legendary ones will be worth something but I feel like they will be weeks of digging and if my experience killing level six monsters has told me anything then the legendary ones will be basically useless as well.

Seems like a nice idea. 2 of our members have done them, but I haven’t asked them yet whether they liked the results. However, from the comments, once again MZ has added something to the game that benefits big players. They need to start adding elements that give incentives to smaller players. I wouldn’t risk my troops for 3 or 4 hours and maybe only get a piece of parchment, and i don’t have 250k T4s. I guess I’ll save the maps for a few months until i get T4s, and then maybe try them.
How about a different type of treasure map. I liked ones when I was a kid that gave you “clues”. You had to go get the clue (and that should happen instantly, ie; no long digging time. Make it so that a scout can go and get the clue.), and then the clue you got, sends you to find another clue, and so on, until you final clue sends you to the treasure. No risking your troops and stronghold, but it adds an interesting element to the game. For me, and many people I think, the game gets a little boring, because my timers are soooo long to research and build. When I logged in this morning, I could train some troops, but all my other timers were days long, so i guess i could chat endlessly, but….kind of boring.

Got a basic map. Had to port to dig. Got a level 4 feather. Decent I suppose, but definitely not worth the port. I’ll pass unless i get a high level map.

Same deal. Ported, got a L2 Gem. Big deal. Waste. This should be Gold. A lot of gold. At a minimum this should be equivalent to a L6 gold tile. Make it really worth it. As it is, I will never port to get one of these things.

I originally only sent 1 t1 troop just to check it out. When I noticed that you could use speedups, I sent my one troop back and sent enough troops to get the dig down to 3 hours. Use a 3hr speedup and waited anxiously for my troops to return so that I could see my report. What did I get???? 4 level 1 materials. What a waste!!! And from what I am seeing by the other comments, I am not alone. I am not even bothering with the treasure map anymore until MZ awards better prizes. Also, I did this during a kvk ke. Imagine if I had left troops there to dig…. No way! I don’t think it’s worth it.

In the “Useful general Information” section it says to avoid low level maps and upgrade to higher levels. I don’t think this is possible – for instance you must combine 4 L3 map pieces to create a L3 map, but you can’t combine maps, just map pieces.

Ya so combine 16 L3 map pieces to get 4 L4 map pieces, then combine 4 L4 map pieces to get a L4 map. It’s just like gems and mats right?

on a different note i put 25k t3 troops on dig and it was 3 hours, an alliance friend put 250k t4 and his dig was 17 minutes so it seems that the quantity of troops makes a difference to how long the dig will be. i also believe you can be hit while on the treasure tile.

If you are attacked at dig site and you lose the battle, does the winner get to claim the treasure? Or the treasure can only be claime by the digger with the map?

Both players will have the same map in this case. Whatever treasure has not been collected by the time of the attack will be given to the winner (just like a resources tile).

Killed probably 10 level 6 turkeys, gotten 1 complete green map and 1 complete grey, 3 days 20 hours to complete the green and got a green timber for it. Overall seems like the pieces are extremely rare and rather underwhelming for the risk involved, maybe the legendary will be worth something but havnt even seen a piece for one yet. You mention combining the pieces like materials, cant find a place to do it in the menus, am I missing something?

Go to maps and the first posibility should be Compose map pieces or so. I have different language. There you need 4 same level map pieces. And down in the middle is button for composing.

In world view at the top there is a little icon of a map and you push that and it lets you assemble a map or combine them each one does a different thing. You can combine everything into higher levels or you can assemble whatever level 4 pieces is.

One note: I’m all about that treasure about that treasure, no SH’s…lol but I have many questions:
•Can you give a picture of the tile gathering speeds page?
•Also, can players randomly find treasure?
•Or is it hidden to only players with treasure maps can see the treasure?
•If it is only hidden to players with treasure maps, what will digging on the treasure look like to players without the treasure map?

you can’t open another map until your map times out and when you are digging on it it looks like a lake to other people or a forest or something like that. I’m not sure if it appears as though you’re camping on it though
