Mastering the Craft of Heroless Core Sets

For over a month “the impossible” has been happening a lot, each day a new “Game of War first” occurs. A lot of this has to do with the heroless custom core sets that have been floating around. Hero-less core sets are sets that are used to attack someone when they don’t have a hero home.

Since the first set of stats were posted, myself and iBurnStuff from (uMb ) having been trying to one up each other custom sets. We both use  completely different recipes but always have almost similar stats. Neither of would release our recipes until now. We decided to get together and make recipes that will push the attack bonus of all heroless sets to over 4700 each.

      Infantry Heroless Set

Our heroless infantry set has the most attack of all our sets and for most part it is the easiest to craft. On all sets I aim for 1200 DD, 620HD, 373 each troop DD, and 85 each health DD.  Those stats were perfect before barracks 23. If the target is all 23 Barracks max research and VIP 22 then you will need to Gem DD to 1350 instead of 1200 and 620 HD instead of 565. Now on to the good stuff, the recipe:

      Helm: Odin Helm (seekers greathelm)
Fulgurite Ore, Emerald Scales, Horn of Aries, Hades Grimoire, Oracle Amulet, Ruin of Power

      Armor: Inflated Armor
Fulgurite Ore, Emerald Scales, Horn of Aries, Hades Grimoire, Oracle Amulet, Ruin of Power

      Feet: Zeus Feet (charged rumble)
Fulgurite ore, Hephaestus ore, Pure lightening, Pandora’s box, Cronos remnant, Rhea remnant

      Weapon: Zeus Weapon (charged bolt)
Fulgurite ore, Hephaestus ore, Pure lightening, Hydra blood, Oracle amulet, Pandora’s box

      Accessory 1,2,3: Underworld Urn
Fire Orb, Fulgurite Ore, Emerald Scales, Horn of Aries, Hades Grimoire, Oracle Amulet

      Screenshot_20160629-123021 Screenshot_20160629-122850 Screenshot_20160629-122641 Screenshot_20160629-123118 Screenshot_20160629-123036

Now for the fireworks. Gem and boosted you are looking at some serious attack power.

      Screenshot_20160629-114931 Screenshot_20160629-114858 Screenshot_20160629-114901 Screenshot_20160629-114915 Screenshot_20160629-114920

** Note: This set is not gemmed to the 620 HD or 1335 DD. With all lvl 23 barracks you will easily hit the max HD. Those stats are with 200% boost. For smaller targets those stats will work just fine. To burn the 250bil+ targets re-gem to zero out DD and HD. After re-gemming, this set will give you 4800+ attack.

      [the_ad id=”18857″]

      Ranged Heroless Set

Next we have the Range set. The attack isn’t quite as high, but man that HD is killer.  I like having all three heroless sets available so I have a set for each occasion.

      Helm: Astral Helm
Archne brooch, Hades Grimoire, Horn of Aries, Emerald Scales, Hieroglyph Plate, Oracle Amulet

      Armor: Behemoth Armor
Emerald Egg, Emerald Horn, Hades Grimoire, Horn of Aries, Emerald Scales, Oracle Amulet

      Feet: Tidal Kilt
Emerald Egg, Emerald Horn, Hades Grimoire, Horn of Aries, Emerald Scales, Oracle Amulet

      Weapon: Tidal Trident
Depth Water, Naga Egg, Kraken Heart, Tsunami Jewel, Ships Wheel, Trident Tip

      Accessory 1: Tidal Trophy Case
Depth Water, Naga Egg, Kraken Heart, Tsunami Jewel, Ships Wheel, Giant Shell

      Accessory 2: Lamia Song
Emerald Egg, Emerald Horn, Hades Grimoire, Horn of Aries, Emerald Scales, Oracle Amulet

      Accessory 3: Lamia Song
Emerald Egg, Hydra Spit, Hades Grimoire, Horn of Aries, Emerald Scales, Oracle Amulet

      Screenshot_20160629-000429 Screenshot_20160629-000351 Screenshot_20160628-233803 Screenshot_20160628-233955 Screenshot_20160629-142515Screenshot_20160629-142819 Screenshot_20160629-142853

And once again more fireworks. Those stats are killer.

      Screenshot_20160629-001911 Screenshot_20160629-001954 Screenshot_20160629-001944 Screenshot_20160629-001931 Screenshot_20160629-001920

      Cavalry Heroless Set

Now to the last set, my personal favorite, the Cavalry heroless. It seems to hit harder even though the attack isn’t as high on this set as the infantry set. But it does have really high HD like the range set.

      Helm: Frozen Helm
Frozen Breath, Hades Grimoire, Emerald Scales, Hydra Spit, Horn of Aries, Oracle Amulet

      Armor: Combatant Protector
Fire Goblet, Armored  Pauldron, Spartan Sigil, Silver Horseshoe, Ruby Sigal, Burning Essence

      Feet: Combatant Leathers
Stallion Hair, Key of Thebes,  Spartan Sigil, Silver Horseshoe, Ruby Sigal, Burning Essence

      Weapon: Icy Frail
Frozen Breath, Hades grimoire, Emerald Scales, Golden Crescent, Horn of Aries, Oracle Amulet

      Accessory 1, 2: Frost Horn
Archne Brooch , Frozen Breath, Hades Grimoire, Emerald Scales, Horn of Aries, Oracle Amulet

      Accessory 3: Frost Horn
Frozen Breath, Hades Grimoire, Emerald Scales, Horn of Aries, Hieroglyph Plate, Oracle Amulet

      Screenshot_20160629-160200 Screenshot_20160629-153227 Screenshot_20160629-152703 Screenshot_20160629-152617 Screenshot_20160629-152602 Screenshot_20160629-152511 Screenshot_20160629-152703

      And of course the stats:

      Screenshot_20160629-153719 Screenshot_20160629-153649 Screenshot_20160629-153655 Screenshot_20160629-153704 Screenshot_20160629-153710

More Important Information About The Sets

Most of the cores and pieces are very common, making the sets easy to make. The only pieces that are hard to get are Horn of Aries and Emerald Scales. The Horn of Aries can be found in Aries chest NOT ARES! The Emerald scale can be found in Emerald Claw chest. Both of those chest appear in the $4.99 chest sales so make sure you watch out for those.

Last but not least I will say it again, gemming for your target is key! If they are maxed research and all 23 barracks then your DD will need to be higher then the base 1200. The recipe can stay the same just gem for more DD.

Also these sets are not the most up to date sets. This is a good base line to help everyone get started. Feel free to edit it and see what you can come up with. Myself and iBurnStuff have both crafted cav and range sets with 4900 attack and everything debuffed, and inf sets with 5100 attack. So get out there and enjoy yourself!

Lots of hard work went into making these sets. Another Shout out to the leader of uMb for his input on the article.  And of course W*N for always pushing the limits and trying new things. More customs will be out in a later article, next set will be 150B or lower with hero marching or in wonder.

As I have previously spoken with Blind about my dislike of this article I will now make my statement here. (most likely with the same result) This article and the ones posted by bake on his site kill the game. They give people copy paste recipes and disregard the work anyone else put into the game. They hand lazy players a copy paste recipe without them having to put in an ounce of thought, which ultimately ruins the game for anyone intelligent.

Please do keep in mind that the players waiting for someone else to figure out the game for them will always be at least one step behind. While players like Bake, Blind, and others working in the lab to find the next best thing will always be one step ahead. Encouraging players to figure stuff out and be rewarded for their efforts through notoriety is what makes Game of War exciting for many. Sites like this have done a great work to help players gain enjoyment from Game of War and thus increase the overall enjoyment for all by keeping players interested in the game. Without this site, I would have given up on Game of War the first week or so after download. Luckily, Navi laid out very easy to follow guides to get me started building my empire. Mz offered absolutely no guidance other than a short tutorial and then, good luck! Actually, I’d go so far as to say without fan sites such as Bake’s and Navi’s Game of War would not have had the success it has these past three years.

So, while I agree that some people are made a better player for a short time by using a recipe for a core set that extinguishes in an hour, they lack true understanding of the game unless they put in the time and effort like Bake, Navi, and Blind to fully appreciate the nuances of Game of War.

A guiding hand iscompletely different than what is go ing on here. For some it may be about noteriety, but I think people should be required to use their brains. I’m glad you got some help here but this is a strategy game. Blind, Bake, and whomever this navi person is are not the only people who put time and effort into heroless sets. They invalidate any work others have done by their articles, and quite frankly if someone is too stupid to figure out a way to craft a set like these they don’t deserve to be able to burn a heroless whale.

Well, this issue is sort of moot since we have Nike secret core set now. It seems Game of War decided they could make it very simple for everyone in the entire game to craft a heroless core set. I liked it better when it was just a few of us bloggers and our readers that could do it. Am I right Pamela 😉

nah I dont mind people being able to do it but it should be something you have to actually use a brain to do. Not this copy paste bull—-.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a “heroless” set?

A heroless Set is when you attack an SH while/when the hero is out. Most useful during wonder battles. Or, someone is hitting monsters.

It[s also worth noting that there are 3 different categories of “heroless”, all of which have different stat requirements:

            Hero in prison
            Hero Marching
            Hero In Wonder

The defender’s troop defense and troop health (not TYPE health or defense) are much higher on the latter two than on the former. The short version of the reason is that marching and wonder-holding heroes get their skills (including altar bonuses), while heroes in prison do not.

By far the most common reason for people using one of these sets, then crying that they “don’t work”, is when they use a set designed for a hero-in-prison on a marching hero…the two scenarios are not the same.
