We have been taking a deep dive into economics in the Dragon Dimension. How do you save time, money, and resources when you are building up? We are looking at tons of tips to save when it comes to this essential function. We are going to continue to explore and this week is going to be all about Monsters. However, before we dive in let’s take a look at what we have already discussed.
A Quick Recap
I know that not all of you will take the time to go back and read so I am going to give you a quick recap. When we are talking about Economy what do we mean by that? For simplicity, we are going to include any function that does not include PvP combat. This means that yes, we will even be talking about monster hunting in this guide. Here are the functions that we will address:
- Research
- Construction
- Training
- Monster Hunting
So how do you save time, money, and get more from your city when you are working on building up your city? In Part 1, we covered various places you can get boosts for construction and research and in Part 2 we covered training, healing, and troop cap. You are able to find various boosts for all these functions in different places including:
- Gear
- Gems
- Athena’s Armory
- Buildings
- Boost Hall
- Hero Skills
- Dragon Skills
- Research
- VIP
- Banners
We also briefly addressed Lifetime boosts (part 1) in order to discuss the fact that since purchasing these boosts is often time-limited we were not going to discuss these in-depth. This week we are moving onto part three and discussing everything monsters. However, before we dive in if you need more details to make sure you take the chance to go back and read parts one and two.

Monster Hunting
Monster Hunting is the final Economy Function we are going to cover. As you head out to slay the monsters whether for an event or some other reason make sure you are getting the most out of the stats that are available to you.
Monster Stats to be on the lookout for
There are a ton of Monster stats we need to be on the lookout for when we go monster hunting and each has their own definition. We are going to take a closer look at these stats in this section to help you better understand what is available for you. While some of these stats are going to be limited in where you can find them it is still worth knowing what they do.
Stat | What does it do? |
Hero Attack | This stat makes your attack against monsters stronger. |
Hero Energy Increase | This allows you to have more Hero Energy available to you at once when hunting monsters. |
Monster Attack March Speed | This stat helps your Hero march faster as it runs to destroy the monsters in your Kingdom. |
Energy Recovery | This stat helps your Hero recover energy faster after you have used your energy and your energy bar is no longer full. |
Hero Critical Hit | This increases your chance of dealing a critical hit on the monster you are attacking. |
Energy Cost Reduction | This Reduces your Energy Cost when you are monster hunting. |
Hero Attack Streak | This is a streak that builds when hitting the same monster and gives you stronger attack bonuses against the monster as the streak level is raised higher. |
Finding the Stats
Now that we now what stats to be on the lookout for when it comes to monsters we move on to the next section. Where can we find those stats? We are going to cover the various places you can find different monster stats for your hunting below.
Gear
The newest set of Gear available in the Dragon Dimension for Monster Hunting is the Oracle Set Gear. Originally many questioned whether this gear was worth the effort because it did not include stats for Energy Recovery. However, these stats were later added in. Currently, this is the top gear set for Monster Hunting.
However, if you do not yet have this gear do not despair. The older set of Monster hunting gear is still a viable choice. Check out the previous information on this set below.
One Generation Older Gear
Our previous monster gear can still get some great use while we work to upgrade to Oracle. The Mythic Destroyer Set is a valid option in the case that you do not have Oracle Gear. However, this set is not as simple as it looks. There are three different ways you are able to wear this gear to optimize different features. Time for a Fashion Show! Fashion Show One
Your first fashion show is all about Energy Regeneration. If you are looking to make sure that your Hero is regenerating Energy at the fastest rate be sure to wear your Mythic Destroyer with three gold accessories. The image below shows one purple accessory only because the individual does not have three gold yet.
Fashion Show Two
The second fashion that is style is wearing your Mythic Destroyer with three purple accessories. Purple accessories have a higher energy max then gold so if you are looking to load your Hero up on energy before sending out to battle equip your Mythic Destroyer with Three purple accessories.
Fashion Show Three
Fashion number three is all about speed. Do you want your Hero to march faster than a speeding bullet (okay, it will not be that fast but it will be faster than normal)? If you are looking for a little more speed when monster hunting be sure to equip your Mythic Destroyer with three Kunoichi’s Frostbound Brooch. These accessories have some Hero Monster March Speed Bonus that will turn your Hero into Speedy Gonzales.
Gems
Next up we are going to take a closer look at what gems to wear when Monster hunting. When we are looking at our normal gems we have a Monster Attack Gem this gem gives 25% Hero Attack Bonus. There is also a special gem for Monster hunting that will increase your Hero Critical hit and March Speed. However, if you do not have these gems you can always toss in a Prophecy gem and double up on Monster Attack Gems.
**Special Note: this is not accounting for people who like to gem monster gear for defense
Athena’s Armory
Next up we are going to look at the bonuses available for Monster Hunting in Athena’s Armory. There are a plethora of stats here where you are able to get a little extra help with monster hunting.
Gear Set | Athena’s Armory Bonus |
Hunter’s Gear Set | Hero Monster March Speed Bonus +20%
Maximum Energy Limit +1,500% |
Beastmaster’s Gear Set | Hero Attack Bonus +32% |
Dragon War Monster Slayer Set | Hero Attack Bonus +100% |
Dark Hunter Gear Set | Hero Attack Bonus +125% |
Hero Skills
When it comes to our Heroes there are various boosts we can receive in various ways. While in the past we had a Monster Skills tree this is no longer the case. If you are looking for Monster Skills in your Hero the only place you will find these is with the Hero Attack provided by Hero One at the very beginning of the tree. However, there are are some other ways our Heroes receive boosts when it comes to Monster Hunting.
Steadfast Skills
Steadfast Skills are skills that apply even when that Hero is not equipped. Each of our Heroes has two Monster Stats available in their Steadfast Skill Trees. If you are planning to go monster hunting you can equip that tree on your Heroes and benefit from some extra Hero Attack and Hero Energy Increase.
Hero Energy Carryover
This is a special boost that falls under your Permanent boosts and these are not as available as they were in the past. What this allows you to do is to exceed your Energy Capacity. This means that even if your energy capacity is 200K you can have an unlimited amount and not lose it. This was most beneficial when leveling heroes up and getting the Energy bar filled multiple times.
Boosts
There are boosts available for Monster Hunting! You can get some additional Monster Attack using these boosts.
Research
Research is actually where you will find the majority of your Monster Stats. While there are some monster stats scattered in various trees such as Max Energy and Energy Recovery in your Seeker’s Rewards Research tree there is one tree that you will really want to focus on for Monsters. The Hero Tree is where you are going to find the most Monster Hunting Stats and where you should focus in first when looking for Monster Stats. In addition, you need to complete this research to be able to hit higher levels of monsters anyways!
Time to Start Hunting
Now that we know where to find our boosts it is time to start hunting. Monster hunting is the main source of PVE in Game of War and one that if we do it in conjunction with events can be very valuable to help build our city. We have some great Realtips for you when it comes to monster hunting.
Realtip One: Make sure you are letting your Hero Energy build-up!
When you are shielded or if you feel safe unshielded in monster gear, make sure that you are switching to different heroes to give each time to let their Energy bar to build up. Spending loyalty to get Energy can quickly become very expensive so it is better to do so in organic ways if possible. Touch base again with the set up that will help you regenerate energy the quickest in our Fashion show above.
Realtip Two: Do your Monster Hunting in Conjunction with events
Save your energy for events. Energy can run out really quickly and you want to make sure you are getting the most rewards for your effort. Make sure when you are monster hunting you are doing so during events that give you items you need or you are only using Hero Energy that you have obtained organically.
Realtip Three: Be Aware of the most efficient way to use your Energy during events
Just hitting the highest level monster may be the quickest way to finish your events but it is not necessarily the most efficient way. We often hear people asking what level monster they should hit during events to be most efficient with their monster energy. This makes sense, you want to use as little monster energy as possible to complete as many events as possible. Instead of waiting for someone to tell you what level monster to hit though we are going to teach you to figure it out for yourself.
— While some of the numbers and monsters have changed over time the concept of this remains the same.
Realtip Four: Know that not all Monsters are created equal
Not all monsters are created equal. When we are looking at special monster events it is easy to decide where to spend our energy. However, with the run of the mill monster events where should we spend our energy. We are going to take a look at each of our Normal Monsters and the energy cost to hit them. However, be aware that this is just a reference point and the cost will vary based on factors such as research.
Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3 | Level 4 | Level 5 | Level 6 | |
Noxious Drake | 429 | 859 | 1,289 | 3,439 | 8,599 | 15,479 |
Naga Temptress | 322 | 644 | 967 | 2,579 | 6,449 | 11,609 |
Primal Earthen | 644 | 1,289 | 1,934 | 3,224 | 5,159 | 6,449 |
Primal Cockatrice | 644 | 1,289 | 1,934 | 3,224 | 5,159 | 6,449 |
Behemoth | 644 | 1,289 | 1,934 | 3,224 | 5,159 | 6,449 |
From this table we can see a couple of things:
- The Naga Temptress is the least expensive Monster to hit until you reach level 5
- The Primal Monsters and Behemoth cost the same on each level and at level 5 and 6 are the least expensive to hit.
Using this knowledge you can use the formula above with your costs to calculate which monster is most efficient to hit during regular Kill Monster Events.
Realtip Five: Take Advantage of Custom Hero Attack
This feature opens up at VIP 145. It allows you to choose the number of times you hit a monster. The advantage of this is when you are doing events such as Raid Boss or Monster KvK or Kingdom of Dragons or Fortress Wars you can use the exact amount of energy you need to complete the event and save the rest of your energy for later events, stretching your energy as far as possible.
