      2. Attention Hero

Hi Everyone, this is General Bow again here to tell you about how our alliance manages our alliance city. We pride ourselves on being a disciplined alliance.

How We Manage Our Alliance City

It takes a dedicated alliance city team to make sure you are effectively using the alliance city 24/7.

What Our Alliance City Team Doesalliance_stronghold_05

      • Runs our alliance city
      • Ensures resources (rss) are being made 24/7
      • Makes sure that rss are being put into the city as needed. We do max speed on rss, it takes 1 hour if the bar is all the way to the right (recommended).
      • Track bank donations. The bank sits outside of the hive so people can port to it to transfer if they want.
      • Placing alts around the city. No mains are allowed within 7 spots of the city. This is so that outlanders have a long march time if they are trying to attack our ALC which leaves them vulnerable for us to attack them.

When We Use Alliance City Speed Upspi_ac_speedup_7d

Only on buildings, never on rss being produced.

      How We Manage Resource Production

We started saving up resources around Christmas time so we have all the resources needed.

      • Mandatory banks dedicated to the alliance city that all members must contribute to on a daily basis. We use a bank because don’t want a ton of rss in the alliance city since they are unprotected.
      • All 5 types of rss are going at all times. We have every time zone (U.S., Europe, Russian, and Australian) covered in our alliance so we are getting a true 24/7 rss production.alliance_refinery_steel_05
      • When we need to transfer rss to the alliance city (ALC) we port an alt out and move the bank next to the ALC. This minimizes the time our ALC is vulnerable to attack. Your bank should be level 21 and if possible have increase trade size with decreased tax reduction so you can send more rss and incur less taxes.

Post in the comments below how you manage your alliance city or what kind of tips and tricks you have learned so far.

Supposing all resources and deeds are donated for an Alliance City build. The Alliance subsequently disbands prior to city construction. What becomes of all donated items?

If you legit delete the alliance then all the resources and deeds would disappear, if people leave the alliance whatever they have donated will stay with the alliance tag.

its may and still not available. I was told by MZ that Kinley is a special kingdom for kindle tablets only. But they did tell me to keep an eye on the blog for updates, When i joined an alliance in Kinley but was in ANOTHER kingdom, I can see all the alliance city stats from my android. So keep getting Deeds for your alliance, the cities are coming, and so will be the unleash of android users.

We are in Kinley, a kingdom that is a little over a month old. Could someone clarify if the alliance city is simply not an available function for us yet or does our R5 need to have all the required resources in order to begin the city?

My advice is to first off, work your members up until they’re at least level 11 or so. You will generally be left alone by most other alliances until then unless your kingdom is really young. Once there, ask around and have four of your members specialize as farms for the alliance. One for each RSS (stone, wood, ore, and food) and all of them for silver. One set of farms like this can carry almost an entire alliance as they level up.

At full capacity they will produce a lot. My food farm will produce around 100 mil a day once it’s all said and done (level 21 with hero skill boosts and crafted items at legendary).

Everyone else is a fighter, but those towns are your economic backbone. When everyone else is zeroed or it’s not safe to gather they will produce the rss everyone else needs to rebuild and grow.

Specialize your famr sh’s build so they have one of each building type plus all villas and the specialized rss tiles outside (for instance, my food farm has one of each rss type tile and all the rest are food farm tiles, and inside one of each and the rest villas to generate silver).

Once this is done just keep them levelling and build up the heroes (once you’re vip level 8 get a 30 day vip for quest autocomplete and use your alliance bucks for more daily chances to crank out the experience). The hero skills are what really make your farms produce. My food farm has a 1450% bonus to food production, and I don’t have all of my crating items complete (should settle just over 2000%). For the other rss(other than food and silver), your hero is the main source of your bonuses (there are no items that are permanent to boost these). Take heed and learn to protect those particular heroes, when your hero is captured you lose all those bonuses and that farm will produce a ridiculously low amount.

Silver bonuses are very heavily based on items, and they all need loads of jewelry, so they take a while. I personally work up to all purple of those items and then on to yellow once I have them all in place. Yellow cratfed items (like the gold ring with a 157% silver production bonus) take a really, really long time unless you can farms the forest (which is dicey in my kingdom); in that case it just takes a really long time. Go purple first, you won’t regret it.

You also need a bank sh, but probably not until you get far enough along to produce your own gold (meaning probably 2-3 sh at level 17 or so with treasuries upgraded as much as they can) since you need to keep it shielded at all times.

Also, learn your kingdom’s laws (ask top alliances) and follow them. Make sure your members know as well and kick those who will not comply. The larger alliances will see that and appreciate it. You’ll make more friends than you think at first.

          Hey Chris,

You have to post your own comments on your alliance wall. Most alliances ‘clear their comment board’ with a simple ‘.(period)’. Each comment bumps the previous comment down. Do this until that message is gone.

          Cheers!

We are trading silver for alliance city speedups in my alliance. It has really helped to knock down the times. Many of our members have numerous silver farms producing 24M a day per member.

Is it possible to cancel a refinement in the city after being started? One of our R4s accidentally started one and it going to take 29 days for 200 in cider…. Very costly mistake if we can’t cancel. Curious if that was an oversight on MZ’s behalf or a done on purpose knowing the amount of gold required to speed up it up?

No canceling… :/ Everyone has made that mistake so far.

Is there a way around having a bank? Not many guys are too keen on this due to taxes, as right now ALC can’t be attacked.

You can hold all the resources in your individual strongholds but then you are super vulnerable to getting attacked. Banks are what the best alliances in the game use, the only way to reduce the taxes is through research :/

Nope, you need a bank. It’s easy keep it shielded all the time as long as you have a few SH with a treasury funded and going to , then everyone else can rally and you don’t lose anything during kill events (our kingdom is pretty orderly, we only have a few days a week of no rules, which are top alliance enforced).

For our bank, we don’t track who puts what in at all, and it’s open to withdrawal by any r4 or up. We haven’t run short of RSS there yet, even with the alliance city (we have a good set of specialized farms and some big sh with enough items to carry us through most things). All r4 have credentials to the bank, and shields are gifted to it as needed.

Once it hits treasury level 7 it will only need a few 3 day shields a month to stay protected at all times. Based on events and timing when you do that upgrade, you can win enough gold to keep it going for a very, very long time with no input from the rest of the alliance in terms of shields.

Eventually, won’t a vault be available in the ALC to protect resources AND assets? Or will the vault only protect alliance member’s excess core crafting material?

Chivalry, we generally only keep as much rss as needed in the alliance city to complete builds and continue rss generation. We don’t want billions of rss in the city when they become unprotected. This is why we donate to a main bank. We can keep our bank shielded at all times and put rss into the ALC when we need more. You can’t transfer rss out of the city once it is in there. With the cost of speed ups and the length of time it takes for builds, we might not go through all the rss in the ALC when it becomes unprotected. This is why we use a bank. Yes, you pay double taxes, but we also know our rss is protected at all times.

It will be very interesting to see what happens when protection for Alliance Cities does drop. Without a mechanism for defending them it would make leveling up builds and doing research next to impossible given the ever increasing quantities of refined materials they need. My alliance is just forging ahead and maxing everything in the hope this will give us an advantage when things start to get interesting: If the ALC requires an Embassy I want enough refined rss to make that happen.

I’m part of 2 alliances – I’m R3 in one alliance, they were able to build their city right away, rss was already there to start them off. I’m R5 in other alliance, much smaller, and the rss is not there to start lvl 1 build. Just wondering why that was.

The R5 has to have the required resources to build the ALC.

Thanks Chad – It seemed to us that on the first build the lvl 1 rss was supplied by MZ. Our R5 may have been mistaken.

We noticed that our main, me being r5, had the funds already but I wouldn’t have noticed if it was all used but i know I didn’t buy any deeds. We have one farm alliance that the r5 there didn’t have the required amount but we could get it started anyway. A r5 from another farm alliance says he doesn’t have what’s required. I’m not sure what the special number is but it’s not consistent

I think MZ goofed when they released the cities initially. When it was released in my kingdom the needed RSS were in our bank. However our R5 currently was a 2 million alt we use with no RSS. Regardless, the small R5 with no RSS whatsoever in hand was able to start the city as it showed we had everything needed. Our farm alliance was also able to build an ALC and they had not saved anything. I’m sure MZ has fixed this by now but yes it seemed like initially the city was a freebie.

Many thanks for the post. It’s very informative.

However I’m confused as to why you’re losing rss to tax by transferring it twice instead of just donating straight to the AC. You say this is because the AC isn’t protected but that’s surely irrelevant at this point given they cannot be attacked – and if they could be then your refined materials are still unprotected. Or am I missing something?

We maxed out our Alliance City on Sunday but I have heard that most people are waiting until something useful is released before levelling up. What are your thoughts on this?

        Seems legit.
We pretty much do the same, a bit of common sense lol but nice article!!
Anyway, AC in GoW means Alliance Chat… So I suggest using “ALC” instead.
