Monster Killing Like A Boss
If you have been looking for a comprehensive guide on monster killing, now you have it.
First, let’s take a quick look at what drops you can get from monster killing.
Cores, Pieces, and Materials that are essential for crafting
Cores/pieces/mats: If you are a competitive player and not spending quite a bit of money on packs, the absolute best way for you to get your gear is by hitting monsters. You can get great cores and pieces as well as regular mats to craft high end gear and also have a possibility of getting relics which help massively in attacks/defenses/training.
Speed Ups and Resources to upgrade your account
You have a good chance of getting the speeds and rss you need to train those massive armies you need for KE’s!
Gold, so you feel rich
Who doesn’t love free gold?!
Maps and Map Pieces where you can uncover all drops
These can be used to get you some of the same great drops from dig sites.
Gifts for your alliance members!
You’ll score major brownie points from your alliance members for the gifts from killing those monsters.
Event Points that earn you event rewards
During most KvK KE’s hitting and killing monsters in opposing kingdoms will give you points toward the KvK. This can help you make those extra points you need to make those 1st 2nd or 3rd prizes in the event, and contribute to your kingdom winning the KvK (in these KE’s every point makes a difference!).
The Best Possible Way To Kill Monsters
Monster Slayer Gear Is Expensive / Focus on Gems and Research
Having some or all of the Monster slayers set gear is a huge plus if your going to be battling a large amount of monsters, but for many players acquiring this gear may be out of their reach. If you are able to get you hands on it, I’ve heard of a few people who can kill a level 5 monster in one hit with this gear.

If you find yourself lacking on the mats FEAR NOT! You can still achieve great results by gemming normal gear with the best hero gems you have and by putting a solid focus into your hero tree research.
Boost Hero Energy to Get The Most Kills
The best stats to focus on for killing monsters is hero energy, it may sound a little counter intuitive (rather then just focusing on hero attack) but you want to get the most attacks out of a fresh bar of energy as possible. After you’ve gotten the highest amount of max energy as you can, focus the rest on hero attack or attack streak, if your killing monsters for points then it would be best to focus on hero attack rather than attack streak.
Don’t Forget Your Monster Attack Boosts
With the new stats and gear it’s best to stay shielded when attacking monsters. If you get soloed with your hero out, it will hurt very bad. Before you begin make sure to use a monster attack boost, it may also benefit you to use a march speed boost (if your worried about getting your monster kill stolen, or simply just want to save some time).
Using Attack Streak Will Give You More “Bang for your Buck”
I’ve found through quite a bit of testing and reports from fellow players that the drops don’t vary much if your attacking using a single attack or max attack (You will get relatively the same drops per hit using either method). The best way to get the most bang for your buck when attacking is to use single attacks to build up your attack streak. You will kill the monster using less energy than just max attacking because you gain an attack streak only for each individual march you send at the monster.
Pro Tip: If you are afraid of your monster getting stolen (during a kvk KE) build up your attack streak with single attacks then use a max attack only when you know you can kill the monster in a single max attack. You can check your previous attacks to see the general amount of damage your attacks are doing to calculate this.
Save Your Energy Items For The Correct Monsters
It may be best for most players to save up as much energy as possible until you come across a certain monster that has the exact gear you want. (Though make sure you use your hero energy as it regenerates to hit monsters as these are essentially free attacks )
Side notes: MZ has recently raised the drops you get from lvl 5 and 6 monsters so if you do have these unlocked it’s best to attack them exclusively. Although if you don’t have lvl 5 and 6 monsters unlocked, attack the highest level monster you can ( level 4 monsters have better drops then level 3, 6 better drops than 5..etc)
Get out there and start slaying those monsters!

Are there any core recipe for monster killing?
There are a couple cores/pieces we used to use for Monster Hitting, Twenty-Sided Dice, however, that was before Monster Killing Gear. You will be much better off crafting Mythic Monster Destroyer Set Gear, Dark Hunter Set Gear, or even Monster Slayer Set. Good luck friend!
Thanks for the article, I’m a regular monster slayer and I still put my max on attack. My reasoning is that when I use extra hero energy boost, I want to get max hit power per energy.
Great write up! Very helpful!

I put max in energy recovery. This help you get 1 to 5 extra attacks , if you do single attacks only with out using extra energy. This also depends on the level of the monster.
I also max energy cost, and max energy. These give you more hits.
Last I put the rest in monster de buff. If you have extra last is hero attack.
What should my monster tree look like?
depends on hero level but put enough points to get down to max energy then as much as you can into it.
It looks like he’s referring to farming the monster tiles with t1 troops, not the killing of monsters.
Thoughts on energy cost reduction vs max hero energy?
Yes you get 1 item for each attack, but what he is saying is you lose the attack streak bonus. This mean it will cost you more energy to kill the monster. That could be several attacks.
Which is why he is saying if you are going for event points, use a streak so you use less energy
@Ken, that may be a valid point, but you are talking about clearing monster tiles. That’s different than hitting/killing monsters. The article focuses only on the drops you get from hitting monsters.
I am also curious as to how the drops from killing X number of L1s matches up to using the same amount of energy on a Level X (2-6) monster. Obviously the drops from a L5, for instance, are much better from a L1, but I’ve been meaning to see if I use the same amount of energy on L1 monsters as it takes to kill a L5, how do the drops compare when you add everything up.
Good article. I was not aware of the single attack vs max attack differential in drops, I will have to check that out.
I’ve tried to attack monsters at the end of a max attack streak with single attacks, and found the drops wanting. I’ve full slayer gear with all regular gem spots covered, and best I can get is three hits to kill, all max attack. Core use for monster attack sounds interesting, but long term, really an answer?
My experience is that if you hit a monster with single attack you get one item to drop, with max attack you get a lot of drops of higher level stuff
I disagree. If you are going after cores. If you farm t1 monsters. I have found you get more items farming level 1 monsters then even level 6 monster. If you factor in time and the cost of lost troops if your kingdom is still fighting internally. If you have jerks in your kingdom that hate winning kvk. Than, level 1 monster are your best way to get items, using t1 troops.
you attack monsters with your hero bro. Smh
So you play in a kingdom that is styled more towards farming ? Can you give the name of that kingdom or kingdom number plz ?
